Artemovsk sparkling wines highly praised by French experts

On 27 February 2013 a wine tasting presentation of Ukrainian wine product samples manufactured by winery corporation «Ukrvinprom» was held at the headquarters of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV). The best exhibited wine products were presented to the OIV collection of wine samples. The event was organized by corporation «Ukrvinprom» and the OIV, supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of France. This unique event was visited by French sommeliers, collectors, experts and journalists of dedicated periodicals, diplomats and wine traders.

The leading Ukrainian manufacturers presented their products: on the whole 26 samples were judged by the French experts. Artemovsk Winery was the only representative of sparkling wine producers that exhibited its products for tasting. The company wine makers gave a presentation of 6 samples of sparkling wines:

  • 1. KRIMART white brut-zero, 2009 vintage
  • 2. KRIMART white extra brut, 2009 vintage
  • 3. KRIMART rose brut, 2011 vintage
  • 4. KRIMART red brut, 2011 vintage
  • 5. ARTEMOVSKOYE white brut, 2011 vintage
  • 6. KRIMSKOYE red semi-sweet, 2011 vintage

The French party highly praised the quality of Artemovsk sparkling wines. The exhibits took their respective places on the shelves of the OIV wine collection.

«This wine tasting presentation was held on a high professional level and does not have any analogues among similar current events. All Ukrainian beverages, presented to and tasted by specialists in Paris, in particular, strong, dry and sparkling wines, cognac beverages, showed that Ukrainian wine makers deserved their medals awarded to them at famous international competitions», – noted the OIV chairman Federico Castellucci.

According to Ukrainian ambassador in France Aleksandr Kupchishin, it is not easy to promote non-French wine in Paris. However, each guest could find something to their taste, something new and unique in the taste of Ukrainian wines and cognacs. Therefore, the diplomat evaluated the event as the one that gave hope for the fruitful and promising cooperation between Ukraine and France in the wine making industry.

Furthermore, representatives of the Ukrainian delegation noted that this year Ukraine intends to renew its membership in the International Organization of Vine and Wine, which was terminated a few years ago.

According to the deputy chief executive officer of Artemovsk Winery Viktoria Malyovana, regular membership of Ukraine in the OIV will provide domestic experts of the industry with a wider access to participation in the development and to the use of official common standards and regulations, which are in force in the international wine and wine materials trading. «Being a manufacturer, we aim at meeting not only the quality requirements to European wine makers, but also high standards of international trade», – Viktoria emphasized.
